The Ministry of Housing in the Netherlands (Minister Stef Blok) recently presented a new set of rules to enable housing associations to sell residential property to investors. The new rules are expected to be finalized this month and are considered a breakthrough.

Housing associations own approximately 78% of the rental dwellings in the Netherlands and many associations wish to sell part of their portfolio in order to be able to make new investments. The new rules provide a great opportunity for both national and international investors.
